Ecuadorian government sentenced against multinational oil corporation Chevron / Texaco

Since 1964, Chevron has operated an oil field in northern Ecuador, near Lago Agrio. This exploitation has led to the contamination of ecosystems and diseased many of the indigenous populations living around.
In 2018, the International Private Court in La Haye opposes the conviction of Chevron and overturns the decision. The Ecuadorian government is fined $ 9.5 billion to Chevron.
